Want to know more about us? Here are some of the questions we are commonly asked. If you have others that are not on this list, please feel free to ask us!
Do you profit financially through your adoptions? No we do not. We are a non-profit organization. We help babies because it is our calling and passion, not because we benefit financially.Where do you get the babies? Loving Hearts works directly with the government and Uganda police. We are a licensed facility who provide temporary care for children who are orphaned, abandoned or neglected. All of our babies have official care orders from police and government to be in our care. What condition are the babies in? Many of our babies come to us malnurished or abused. Many have been found in toilets, in garbage dumps, or on the side of the road. The first step to accepting a baby into our home is to get them a complete medical check so that we know the exact medical needs and have a specific care plan for each of our babies. How many babies are in your care? We have a maximum of 20 babies in our care at all times.
Do you let anyone volunteer? No, we have an application process if you want to volunteer and work with our babies. This is for their protection to ensure that they get the very best care possible. To start the application process, you can click here.
How long is the adoption process? Adoptions generally take 3 years. In Uganda, legal guardianship or long-term foster care is granted before a full adoption. This is for the safety of the babies.
When I click to donate, I am forwarded to Africa Renewal Ministries website. Is this correct? Yes, we were founded through Africa Renewal Ministries and the majority of our funding is still processed through them. How do you care for so many babies? We have many full time and part time staff who care for our babies. Our "mothers" are on rotational schedules with day/night shifts to ensure that the babies have around the clock care.
